Place within the organization
 

Position PV is a function for the renewal and expansion of the company activities. This function reports directly to the Operations Director (OD) and indirectly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) or in his absence to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This function has, together with the other responsible persons within the company, the data center operators as direct subordinates. The function works together with the data center operators. The function is the internal point of contact within the operations department for the various locations including support for sales. External contact is with auditors, suppliers and to support colleagues also with customers. The function is not part of the management team.
 

Job description
 

The function is responsible for managing the necessary activities in all operations and carrying out renewals and expansions and ensuring that all installations comply with the legal standards, as well as the operations and installations work optimally in terms of stability and availability. Other important elements that fall within the scope of the function are customer SLA management as support for the operations department, cost effectiveness, security and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
 

Area of ​​Responsibility
 

 Operational responsibility:

• You work closely with the OD and organize the operations department together with him. You ensure that the operations team is motivated and committed with clear objectives. You ensure that all installations are managed according to the instructions of the supplier. You continuously develop the function and optimize it.

 Facility responsibility:

• You support the facility by monitoring and coordinating their activities, perform facility activities where requested and necessary and take the lead in larger activities in the absence of the Facility Responsible (FV). You ensure that maintenance planning and procedures of new or modified installations are in place on time, that HVAC and power monitoring is in place and you arrange upgrades where necessary. You support operations by integrating common systems that can be used at all locations. You support the facility with their Opex, Capex and their requested reports when necessary. You ensure that the quality of the facility works is always at the maximum level and act as a second pair of eyes for the OD and the COO. You evaluate the efficiency of the data center on a regular basis and manage adjustments in consultation with the OD and the COO in case of deviations.

 Service delivery responsibility:

• Support, design and implement customer requests where and when necessary as support for the Service Delivery Responsible (SDV). Support the management team for customer bids. Act as a technical and operational interface between the data center and the customers.

Process responsibility:

• Ensure alignment with external regulations. Develop and implement business process guidelines for aspects such as problem solving, change management, dedicated follow-up of activities and timely status reporting. Support management by updating their quality systems in a timely manner to obtain or maintain their certificates.

Project responsibility:

• Develop together with the FV the necessary solutions to reduce the risk of downtime to the best possible minimum. Come up with ideas for improvements and develop the plan for execution. Design and define all components of the projects, ensure that you buy them at the best conditions and ensure approval from the PV and the COO. Manage and execute support and follow up subcontractors and own staff by executing and supervising approved solutions. Use technical expertise and experience to devise methods to reduce costs in projects and for the electricity bill. Come up with ideas to make it easier to achieve the SLA standards. Propose corrective actions and manage them in accordance with operations and facility, the PV and the COO. Design solution for possible improvements and extensions. Use technical expertise and experience to design efficiency improvement projects and manage them in accordance with operations and facilities.

Other:

• Act as technical expert for the sales department and in negotiations. Support in tenders when requested and required. Take the advisory role on technical matters for the management team. Assist in carrying out the tasks described above and take the lead in doing so.

Profile

• You are an ambitious analytical person with a higher education in electromechanics and/or have experience in working with electrical installations, cooling techniques and/or relevant maintenance work.

• Several years of experience in the maintenance of business-critical installations and strong in independently following up projects and technical faults is a plus.

• You have an interest in and knowledge of the technology of HVAC, electricity, power generators, UPS installations, data cabling and access control.

• You are fluent in Dutch/English.

• You can get by well with Word and Excel.

• You are preferably stress-resistant in crisis situations and have a hands-on mentality.

• You are in possession of a category B driving license.
